BREAKFAST CLUB
As well as undertaking a task that benefits the local community the young people on the course meet weekly at a "Breakfast Club" This happens each week in the morning, and the group eat breakfast together. The venue is decided on by the group and favorites include McDonalds or the local cafe for a traditional fry up. This is an important session as getting up early not something that young people naturally like to do. The incentive of breakfast helps, and as the weeks go on getting up on time becomes a positive habit prepares the young people for when they have to get up regularly for work or college. It is also important as it gives the young people a chance to explore their feelings and issues that have been raised by the programme in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. To help this happen discussion starters are provided at the Breakfast Club, these sheets or questions help focus (and wake up) the group.back
